Introduction to Workflow Interactive Tasks

A Workflow Interactive Task is performed by a logged on user and is represented in a Workflow Process by an Interactive Task Node .

An Interactive Task Node is linked to an Interactive Activity. An Interactive Activity has Completion States and Input/Output parameters that are defined by a linked Form. To create an Interactive Activity, select File > New > Workflow > Interactive Activity.

An Interactive Task Node must have one in link and out link. Double clicking the node opens the Interactive Task Node Configuration, from the General tab you can:

Rename the node (names must be unique within a process)
Add a description of the node
Link to an Interactive Activity
Set the priority of the task (for task list sorting)
Make the task cancellable

Steps

Step number

Create a new Workflow Process called sendEmailProcess.

Add an Interactive Task Node called supplyEmailNode and link it to the Start and End Nodes.

Create a Form supplyEmailForm and open Form Properties > Workflow and add a Completion State COMPLETED.

Create an Interactive Activity supplyEmailActivity and link it to supplyEmailForm.

Configure supplyEmailNode to use supplyEmailActivity.

Run the Test Harness and step through the process.
